Analogies & Oxymorons

During the Landscape Laboratory I went to visit San Severino Marche, a small town in the inwards of Macerata's province.
I took many pictures in order to have enough material for my design's photomontages.
Observing all the pictures I noticed that the picture of the main square and the one of the valley above the town have something in common. So, in order to support my first impression, I mixed the two pictures.

Farming the town
San Severino Square is occupied by vegetable gardens and grasslands grazed by sheeps.

Urbanizing the landscape
On the other hand the Potenza river valley appears fully occupied by a tiled floor. This is mostly a space for cars.

Will these pictures ever be feasible?
when will it happen? which reasons could bring them about?
